According to The American Marketing Association, “marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.” It can simply be defined as “meeting needs profitably.” For an effective marketing effort, one must refer to the 7 Ps of marketing. These seven are: product, price, promotion, place, packaging, positioning and people. One service company that integrates the 7 Ps is Geico.

The first 4 Ps of marketing are: product, place, price, and promotion. Geico is one of the top providers of insurance. They meet all of their customers’ needs and wants. They provide life, car, house, and renters insurance. Geico is the second largest auto insurer in the United States with locations all over the US. They have chosen the low cost marketing strategy.
