Manipulation

Manipulation takes place in everyday life. It's the human impulse in all of man. Manipulation is the act of a shrewd or devious deed, especially for one's own advantage. In certain situations, women can become the downfall in men. In William Shakespeare's, Macbeth, severe cases are shown. Macbeth and the witches are a prime example of how women influence men to perform evil deeds of manipulation.

Lady Macbeth is a small, but important part in the play Macbeth. She is constantly feeding her husband lies to kill Duncan so that her dream of power over Scotland will be a reality. She is a greedy character that seizes the opportunity to create the impact she can create on her husband. She is responsible for influencing her husband to commit crimes of murder and unleashing the dark side of him and motivating him to become an evil and vicious man. In addition, when Lady Macbeth says to her husband, "to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man", she threatens his manhood to motivate him to murder Duncan. This is a manipulative method to get her husband to commit manslaughter for all of her own evil wants. Because of her appalling behavior and lack of awareness, Macbeth should not be held completely accountable for his actions since Lady Macbeth is the one who lead him towards committing both crimes.

To show the importance of the witches in the play shakespeare shows the betrayal by the witches to Macbeth. Macbeth realizes they have manipulated him into killing someone he is so loyal to.
