The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell

In the short story, “The Most Dangerous Game,” Richard Connell gives us, the story is set on an island with only a few people. It is about a cruel and stupid man who likes to hunt innocent people with a huge advantage. This is very rude. Don’t don’t try this at home kids. He develops the theme that it is easier to be cruel if you don’t think about the feelings of others by showing us that General Zaroff will trap people by having their ships crash on sharp rocks. We come to understand this by paying attention to the beginning when Rainsford falls off his ship.

In the beginning of the story, we learn that General Zaroff likes to hunt people which is quite rude. It soon becomes clear that he isn’t a great person most of the time and all the people on the island should fear his wrath. This tells us that General Zaroff needs some help. And the following evidence shows so, `and, above all, it must be able to reason."' "But no animal can reason," objected Rainsford. "My dear fellow," said the general, "there is one that can." This shows that he isn’t humane.

We get a closer look when Rainsford makes the malay mancatcher. By depicting how he is still amused by his effort. Connel tells us that Not many men know how to make a Malay mancatcher. Luckily for me I, too, have hunted in Malacca. You are proving interesting, Mr. Rainsford. I am going now to have my wound dressed; it's only a slight one. But I shall be back. I shall be back."

We get a closer look when General Zaroff is hunting Rainsford towards the second day. It seems like he is still confident about finding Rainsford.
