Change Simulation

The group I was a part of chose a democratic style of leadership when completing the change simulation assignment.   We came together as a group in a controlled environment and read the scenario guide as well as watched the how to play video that was a part of the simulation.  After which we began to ask each other what did we think would be the best way to approach the simulation. Our group chose for each of us to attempt the simulation on our individual computer systems and the final simulation would be done on one person’s computer to be submitted.   We collaborated as a team during the process on each try.   We evaluated the options and the relationships between the individuals in the simulation and decided to try different methods based on a consensus. If someone saw a different route we should try instead of the one the majority agreed upon we discussed it and thought it out and if it was a better choice we went that route.   The democratic style worked for our group because I feel as though we are all competent to make decisions and give advice through experience in corporate settings in our own individual careers.

When we began voicing our different opinions about the decision making process during the simulation I felt as though trusting the democratic process was safe.

There were moments I was worried when we kept loosing adapters.   When we logged in using my chance at the simulation   we had a platform to go off of because Jason had done a trial run and gotten 17 adapters so we were so sure we could win them all over.   We found this to not be true.   We initially followed all of his decision making processes until we would get to one where he either didn’t gain adapters or lost adapters and we would switch and choose by the majority rules route.   At times it worked and at times it didn’t.  In the end I had only 2 adapters.  I was very disappointed and surprised because I just knew we would get all the adapters by adjusting to change.   Once we got to our third team member,  Andre’ we were back confused but we decided to just go with a different approach all together and for the final submission do a combination.     In the end I noticed that we didn’t use the consultant soon enough in any of the scenario’s and we maybe should have chose the coalition option sooner than later.
