Essay title: Blood Pressure

National organization is defined as, relating to, or belonging to a nation as an organized whole. So, in my search for a national pharmaceutical organization which I felt was closely or somewhat related to me, I chose the University of Southern California (USC) School of Pharmacy. I preferred this organization because it was one of the first Pharmacy schools to be opened in America. Also it has produced some of the most top notch Doctors available in America. However, the issue that really sold me was that it was ‘recognized as one the most innovative schools of pharmacy in the nation’ and that it has set the bar for other pharmacy related schools around the country. Fortunately, it was also the first organizations to establish the six-year program leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Which means that one does not have to finish his Bachelor Degree and then do his Masters degree; he can just do it all at one time! Furthermore the purpose of each professor is to make each student ‘become an active and integral member of the patient care team.’

As well as being known for its student academics and accomplishments it has also provided a large amount of significant professional organizations throughout the nation, organizations such as; Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, American Pharmacy Student Alliance, and the Student Industry Association. However, the organization I would like to emphasize is the National Community Pharmacist Association (NCPA). The NCPA represents the independent pharmacy owners and practitioners, and its aim is to educate students about independent pharmacies.
