Distance and Time Writing Activity

The smallest object that I have ever seen was a cell underneath a microscope. I was looking at it in science class in 6th grade so that everyone knew what one looked like up close. If I remember correctly it was a plant cell that we looked at. I had prior knowledge that plants had cells but had never actually seen one with my own eyes.

The largest object I have ever seen, with my own eyes, was a giraffe. Another thing that I have seen, but not with my own eyes but from a picture, was the sun. When I saw the giraffe I was at a zoo with my school for a field trip. I have seen pictures of the sun for my entire life.

The longest distance I have ever traveled was to Hawaii, technically I wasn’t born yet but I was in my mother’s stomach at 7 months old. The farthest place that I have ever traveled after being born is to Florida. I was in Hawaii when I was born because my father had been stationed there for the military and I lived there for three or four years. I just went to Florida this past summer to go see my grandfather, my dad’s dad, because he had just gotten his foot cut off because it was completely dead and turned black because of one of the cancers that he has.

The largest number of objects that I have ever encountered is a whole wasp colony from a wasp nest. I had been playing outside when I was about 7 near my grandfathers, mom’s dad, old oak tree, it was at least 50-60 feet high, and I accidentally kicked my ball and it hit the wasp nest, which was only about 10 feet off the ground. Needless to say the wasp nest fell off of the tree and they all came swarming at me, though I was only stung fourteen times.

The longest I have ever spent doing one activity was maybe four and a half hours. It was a paper for English that was due the next day. I sat on my computer for about four and a half hours just typing about speeches that had been made in the early 20th century or late 19th century.
