1. What, historically, have been Apple's competitive advantages?

The company of "Apple Computer" is known for its Macintosh personal computers in the 1980's. Despite a strong brand and rapid growth Apple almost went bankrupt in 1996. But , when Apple went rapid growth, it's have none competitive advantages. Mac was very slow and there was few compatible programs due to the proprietary design. In 1980, there sparked a computing revolution that drove the PC industry to 1 billion dollar in annual sales. Apple quickly became the industry leader, selling more than 100,000 Apple?s by the end of 1980. In December 1980 and Apple launched a successful IPO. But in 1981, Apple's competitive position changed fundamentally. Because the IBM entered the PC market and it used Microsoft's DOS operating system and a microprocessor from Intel. Then Apple's net income fell 62% during the 4years.
