What I Might Say or Do If a Friend Was Thinking About Experimenting with Alcohol or Drugs?

If one of my friends were thinking about taking drugs, I would do what any loyal person should do. I would talk to him or her about it. The first thing I would say to my friend is what are you going to get out of it, does this make you feel cool, or are you doing it just for the fun of it, because to me this not cool or fun, and the only thing that you will get out of it is bad lungs and a lot of trouble.

Then I would ask him or her about sports. What are you going to do when you have to run long distance like in basketball, football, or soccer? You aren’t going to be able to run for a long period of time. Then you are going to get heart burn or maybe you might have a heart attack, and drugs and alcohol aren’t worth dying over.

After that I would ask them about friends. What kind of friends do you think you will have if you take drugs or drink alcohol? You won’t have many friends. I know I wouldn’t want to be around someone that takes drugs and drinks all the time. I know I don’t want to because I have people in my family that smokes and drink and their lungs and stamina are bad.

What are you going to do about school? I know you are as smart as most of the 4.0 GPA students in our school but you don’t try, and I know this because of the homework that you bring home. If you were to drink and smoke and take pills you wouldn’t be smart at all. You would loose most of your brain cells. For every alcohol beverage that you drink you kill over 100 brain cells and that is a lot. Then even if you do try after that you still would be getting the same grades that you did before you took drugs and drink alcohol.
