Was Nat turners actions justified in what he did?

Nat turner is justified in his actions in August of 1831.

Nat Turner was born on October 2, 1800. He was born into slavery while being a slave he suffered greatly. He was an escaped slave, who fled north but then came back south because he thought that sprits from heaven had told him to do so. Nat was a very religious man; he felt God was giving him instructions through sprits.

Nat was given a sign from sprits to attack on July 4th, 1831 but this was postponed due to him being sick. On Aug 21, 1831 after seeing an eclipse witch he thought was a sign from the heavens to start the attack, he and more then 50 followers attacked, stabbed, clubbed, and killed nearly 55 people. Turner and his band attacked four plantations successfully, but the fifth attack an alarm was sounded. The alerted white men captured and executed 16 or Turners men. Though Turner himself escaped and hid out for several weeks, he was caught, captured, hung, quartered, and skinned.

I feel that Nat turner is justified in his actions on October 2 1800. Firstly because he was deprived of food and that could have made him think unclearly. food could have affected him because the body needs food to function properly. There have been cases where people that have been deprived of food can have mental imbalances.

The second reason is he was held against his will. Slavery is inhumane, anyone that is a victim of it could rebel at any time and Nat turner was justified of his actions because of this. Nat turner was not the only person who acted like this, other slaves who were held against there will rebelled as well in the hopes of getting a better life.

Finally Nat turner was justified because there was a good chance that he had some psychological problems. He said that sprits from heaven told him to do what he did. he thought that he was put on the earth
