Executive Summary

           

Our marketing plan focuses on the company Apple and their recently introduced product, the Apple Watch.  Apple has long been known as a pioneering and innovative company that has sought to push the boundaries of what is possible with modern computing.  Products like the iPod and Mac have literally changed the landscape of their respective markets (personal entertainment devices and computers).

        While Apple has an impressive list of groundbreaking products, the Apple Watch has not quite attained the praise that company’s past products have received.  Many consumers initially viewed the product as a “gimmick” and a “money grab”  The device was released not long after competitor Samsung’s Galaxy Gear which led to allegations of Apple piggybacking off of competitor ideas in order to enter a new market.  Overall, forecasters have predicted that the Apple Watch will not be as “revolutionary” as Apple intends it to be.  

SWOT Analysis

Strengths: The Apple Watch has the benefit of being an Apple product, meaning those loyal to Apple are more likely to purchase the product regardless of the competition’s offerings.  This is important because Apple has an extremely large market share when it comes to portable products.  The product has many functions and capabilities and is able to pair seamlessly with iPhones.  The device thus serves
