1. Calveta’s values play a significant role in the success of the company; a good indication of their superior values rests on the satisfaction of customer contract agreements. Less than 2% of Calveta’s SFL clients terminated the company as its vendor, compared to a staggering 25% industry average. Another aspect in the company’s success includes the training called “Antonio’s Way,” which is a set of principles and goals the company lives by. Four of the Five goals include the quality of work provided by the company while giving their employees many opportunities to be successful through their own effort.

2.Calveta’s operating approach is the backbone of what has made the company so successful. They differentiate themselves by providing custom dishes for its consumers depending on region and preference, this is called “At your Your Service”. This procedure gives residents options to have their meals pre-made for their specific tastes, which in turn made the residents feel certain level of personal service. The quality of food did not suffer due to the service provided; Calverta used fresh produce and not the industry norm of canned foods while catering to specific diets, more prominent in assisted living centers. This technique provided terminace service that made residents feel more cared for. Calverta provides even more sustainable competitiveness due to allowing employees the opportunity to engage in “how Calveta’s works,” an organized event which includes seminars and HR development programs to better educate workers while giving them the tools to be successful.

3.Calverta’s technique for displaying exceptional service is not easily taught and relies on committed employees. Most companies in the market focus on providing highly regularized systems to standardize foods to cut down in cost. Unlike the market, Calvertia’s service makes customers feel like family, with its creative personalized foods other companies can not change these procedures without spending excessive capital. Due to the revenue brought in by larger companies they may not feel the need to change quality standards since its already the market norm.

4. Maintaining growth and culture has a large impact on increasing revenue; most negative comments made from customers and concerns from management included “Antonio’s Way” being compromised with rapid growth and not focusing on what made them so successful in past years. Calvertia’s differentiates itself by providing exceptional training to fulfil the company’s goals and continue to keep the culture so many SFL clients have grown to appreciate.

5. Goals one through five illustrate a great structure to guide a company towards success, although if goal five is not included in the business strategy the company may not be able to fulfill goals one through four effectively. Despite goal four being inconsistent with the first four, it is equally as important.
