What are your long term and short term goals and how you plan to achieve them?
STG: Getting into a consulting firm
I was always had a passion for ideas, and my education in economics and computer science has helped me to think of optimised solutions to the most complex of problems. Therefore, consulting as a career would be an ideal choice for me. Therefore, my short-term goal would be to get into a consulting firm. There are a lot of consulting firms visiting our campus next semester, so, I will be applying to those firms and various other firms like McKinsey, BCG that haven’t traditionally visited our campus in the even semester, I will be applying to those off campus. I hope to get a good job in one of these firms and gain the best exposure, the best network and to hone my skills.
Asset: This means that their most important asset has to be the ability to use past intellectual capital and to generate new intellectual capital through rigorous thinking and careful research.[a]
LTG: MBA and placements
I wish to do an MBA from a top tier institute after a short stint in consulting because it’ll help in building upon the foundation of my skills that I would have gathered during my job in a consulting firm and also, I would have prior exposure to how the industry works and an MBA would help me in skilfully developing the nuances of the profile and also provide me with a better and influential network. Post MBA, I wish to return to the management consulting profession with a new flair and knowledge.
