пїЅThe Charge of the Light BrigadeпїЅ by Tennyson provides a description of a large group of soldiers that were en route to an unknown fate. The first paragraph of this poem is worth a detailed examination, as it is intended to describe the opening scene in the poem, leading to a series of events as the poem unfolds. The opening words describe the пїЅheroesпїЅ of the poem, as they seem so far away from their desired objective, which is towards the battle that they must fight: пїЅHalf a league, half a league, half a league onward, all in the valley of Death rode the six hundredпїЅ (Tennyson). These words describe the necessity for the пїЅheroesпїЅ of this poem to travel to their ultimate destiny. In general, the poem describes the threat and the fear of war, with various descriptions related to battle, and the march to war is one of the most striking depictions that the poem has to offer.
