Xian Cao MI (Grass Jelly) 仙草蜜

“Yuck! Uncle Bao Quan I don’t want to eat it, it so dark and bitter.” I said “Jessica it really delicious and good for your health. Jessica do you know a lot of people like Xian Cao Mi and it $5 for one large cup”, said Uncle Bao Quan. In the summer of 2016, I went back to china to play and eat but I don’t like trying new thing….I am not a very picky eater but it just that I don’t want to try new thing. I went to my Uncle house to play and I ate so much spicy stuff and have a cold sore and dehydration known as Shang huo in china. My uncle saw inflamed blister near my mouth and decided to buy me Xian Cao MI (Grass Jelly) 仙草蜜. Xian Cao MI (Grass Jelly) 仙草蜜 can be found in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Grass Jelly is black with a bitter taste to it. Grass jelly carbohydrates, calcium, phosphorus, vitamins (A, B1, C), and water. People in china Grass jelly help people get rid of cold sore / dehydration. I hate to eat a translucent black thing because I believe it was made with the unknown material because in china many people make fake stuff to sale to the people. But one day I was playing with my friend in china and four of us went shopping without our parent having our money and spent all we want without the guardian knowing, I didn’t feel bad because that summer I went to china with my sibling and stay with my grandma and did not ask her for money or any other person. In china, many people give me money and it all mine so I can spend all I want and not be restrict by my parent. My friend and I were shopping the entire afternoon and it was around 30° Celsius and we were so tire and our face were all red. We were so tired that we wouldn’t walk across the street to buy a drink at a café but then we saw an old lady walking in front of us selling Grass jelly so we decided to go and buy it. Even though I don’t like it but I was thirsty enough to drink it. At first, I stare at it unwilling to drink but as I slowly saw all my friend drinking with pleasure on their face I decided to drink it. I took a sip it was cold and refreshing and bitter but slowly it turns sweet, really sweet! It was really delicious it was better than the bubble tea and watermelon juice I bought every day. I was glad that my uncle introduces me to Grass jelly and my friend for encouraging me to try it and if I didn’t try it I would never know something that good exist. After that day I kept going to store and buy it and even now I still want it.

Books

I am really picky about many books. I only read a supernatural book with romance. I don’t like the book that is realistic and historical books. I do not interest in many books because I am really picky and took a long time to found but I read really fast. One day our teacher told us that we have to write about the theme of our books but I was reading a supernatural book and I was what?! What am I going to do? The first day when we start I was very worry because I didn’t have a book to write theme nor I know a theme. That day I was sick, I have a running nose. I passed the bookshelf every time I went to throw away the tissue but I walk really really slow because once I got back I have nothing better to do. I glanced at the bookshelf hoping to find a book but all the book cover were ugly and it was really short but there one interesting book name Chinese

Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah. I thought I was about fairytale so I took it since I don’t have any books to pick from so I just took it from the bookshelf and starting reading. I was curious about the books because of its name. I thought the book was about a Cinderella that was being bossed around by stepmom but it was different from the fairytale. The book Chinese Cinderella is a true book base on the author childhood. At first, I thought what so interesting about a person life? Especially in their childhood? In the beginning of the book talk about how Adeline Yen Mah like writing literacy and how she was born and her mother died and her father remarried. I was not surprised that it was like that because the title is Chinese Cinderella. The book talks about many interesting Chinese Culture. As I get deeper into the story I realize that she was fighting for education when many have given up and I was inspired by her strong heart to kept pursuing education and stay strong no matter what happen. In 7th grade I once prayed for a classroom full of the large romantic supernatural book but when I found this book I come realize that I should try a different kind of books and they can help in many ways. I so glad that there assessment because if there wasn’t one then I would miss out on really nice books and a good lesson that author
