Chapter One

(Jealousy and Friendship)

In chapter one of “Their Eyes Were Watching God”, there was numerous amounts of emotions displayed by various people. Jealousy was a very apparent emotion displayed widely among the women in the town. Jealousy is an emotion that makes people want something that another has already and for this they spit that person. Anther more dominate emotion encrypted in this chapter was friendship. Friendship was immediately introduced in the first chapter between Janie and Phoeby. Friendship is a bond between two or more organisms that can confide in each other.

The body language displayed by Janie as she walked through the town, brought her a lot of attention upon her return to her hometown of Florida. Janie was a beautiful black woman that had setout to accomplish her own dreams, a year and a half prier to returning home. Janie had a divine figure and an exquisite facial appeal. Her presents were instantly known because of unique characteristics. Janie unique characteristics were so prominent, that s astonished all of the town’s people. The men of the town immediately noticed her frame and the style of clothes she wore. Janie had a tight rear, long beautiful hair and belligerent breasts.
