With the development of material and the diverse demands, cross-border traveling turns out to be an increasing trend to exotic-interested people, especially for those foreign language learners like myself. As an English student, my dreaming destination is definitively London in England if I was given two weeks to travel aboard. As far as I am concerned, there are a couple of reasons why I choose England.

First things first, as I mentioned above, I am currently a student specializing in English at the university. Though I have already gained some accomplishments on academic study, a textbook still cannot teach me intonation, slang or vocal expression, which forms a kind of language barrier over time with a serious phenomenon as I called “the mute English” and eventually causes lots of difficulties in the actual communicating. Going to English Corner and chatting with foreign teachers may be a kind of moderate situation temporarily alleviate the problem but talking with actual local people in the local place for a long period of time would be a lot better. In this way, not only have I immersed myself in a totally native English culture which help expand my cultural horizons, but I can constantly exposure to an interactive English environment that hasten my listening and speaking capabilities. I feel London is the best fit since people there have the accepted standard English accent.

Beyond that, England is an old country enjoys a long history and a splendid culture with many famous landmarks. London, in particular, has some of the most amazing attractions in the world. From the historical Tower of London to the modern London Eye. From the majestic Buckingham Palace where the Queen lives to the towering Big Ben which is the ruler of time – just to name a few. Besides, there are many best museums and galleries in the world such as British Museum, Science Museum and Natural History Museum – You can even find some ancient Chinese collections lay there. The best part is that most of these landmarks are available to visit at no cost.
