What is Faith

Faith is something that is important in human lives because without faith, human beings cannot achieve any goals that they have set for themselves. If we humans tend to examine closely by all the inventions or actions that have occurred throughout the past 100 years, we tend to find out that faith seems to be like a driving force that has helped to transformed dreams into reality and impossibilities into possibilities. Bonganjalo Goba simply nailed it by bringing up most important issues that affect the black Christians living in South Africa. I believe that everything that Goba stated in his writing are all true. Especially with issues of innocent people getting killed, increase in crime rates, economic exploitation, racism, and sexual abuse of women and children in the society. Goba wrote to the general public including those that control the nation’s resources and some issues that tremendously affecting the people.

Goba stated that that him and his community tend to struggle against racism, economic exploitation, lack of resources that exist in the society. Which means that something has to be done about it. Goba tend to draw or find his strength or inspiration to keep on struggling by establishing or having faith. On page 26, he simply defined faith to be an expression of commitment based on a profound relationship with Christ as we participate in the struggle for liberation. For example, it was only because of faith that freedom fighters around the world have been able to achieve their goals. Faith was a key factor that helped India defeat the British in order to reclaim what rightfully belong to them. Faith was also a form of inspiration and motivator that drove Alexander the great to conquer every nation that he came across. Faith is formulated by the spirit which is a spirit of confrontation. It is quite true that faith is formulated by spirit of confrontation because when people set a goal for themselves, they tend to achieve their ultimate goal by having faith in everything that they do. Faith tend to be like a building block of any achievement, invention, discovery and victory from oppression. For example, we all can simply testify and see how faith played a vital role in helping to deliver the Israelites from the hands of pharaoh. Faith just doesn’t work by itself. God does the actual work. But in the case of the Israelites he decided to use humans as a tool to execute his plans. God could have just simply use his power to show his sovereignty. Instead he instructed Moses to use his staff as an act of faith
