I am interested in the medical field because I like to help people. Also, it

pays well. Even though school and training are very hard and expensive, it will pay off for me in the end. I am willing to sacrifice a few of my years and money to make an effort in bettering our world. I can make a difference in someone's life.

To become a doctor, I will endure a lot of training and education. In

college, I must study courses to prepare for medicine, such as biology,

chemistry, and some advanced math courses. It generally takes seven to eight

years to finish this education. The first four years, I will study for a B.S. degree.

Then it's on to graduate school, where for four years or more I will learn about

the area that I will choose. I hope in the future that I will achieve a M.D., PhD., D.C., or any other doctorate degree in existence.

I am not sure if I would like to be a pediatrician, or a specialist like an epidemiologist who researches medicine. Specialists earn more money. Specialists don’t have as much to do as much and are required to learn more. I do not think I will want to be a surgeon because cutting people open and taking things out doesn't seem very appealing to me.

Doctors will always be needed. Because of this, and because of the

population growth, doctors will always be in demand and the profession will

continue to grow. This way, a doctor will be unemployed less and will be more

secure
