Feminist leadership: Building nurturing academy

In this article Ms. Tracy Burton speaks on the education of our children and the foundation of feminist leadership. She speaks about the women in New Zealand and all over on how they possess a strong value system, which takes commitment from the communities. She also states that feminist educational leadership rest on emancipators politics which emerges from women beliefs, values and attitudes.

She says that feminist is always thinking about equality and equal opportunity. She states that the women feminist are not recognized for the work that they have done. The purpose of her study was to understand feminist leadership and to learn how feminism shapes their identity and leadership practice. She interviewed many women for her research, women from all descents. The greatest challenge at present is the changing face of American higher education due to the influx of new populations of students. Policies, institutional practices, teaching methods, methods of assessment, and leadership will all need to change to better serve constituents in these evolving academic communities. Feminist educational leadership rests on emancipatory politics which emerge from women’s experiences
