STRENGTHS
• Doctors and trustees at Alan Louis feel that it’s a great place to work, that excellent care is provided there, and the nursing staff is particularly friendly and good
• Amongst former patients, Alan Louis General’s scores ranked first in terms of nursing care, convenience, and location and second in terms of surgical care, costs, range of services, and emergency care
WEAKNESSES
• Not known to specialize in anything
• The general public scored the hospital low on all accounts in the attribute testing
OPPORTUNITIES
• Create a unique “position” to attract patients
• Develop a marketing / PR plan THREATS
• Competing with 10 other medical facilities in Laredo, TX
• Staff could chose to relocate to competing hospitals
• If not financially viable, the hospital could be forced
