I think Yunnan is one of the most beautiful province in China.I made the journey to Yunnan when I was in the grade two of junior high school.
In Yunnan,one of my favorite sight spots is the old town of Lijiang. The Old Town of Lijiang is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province and is home to the Naxi ethnic minority.This town is also known as Dayan Town.It was built about 800 years ago during the Southern Song Dynasty. So it has a very long history. Among all the famous historical and cultural cities in China, it is the only ancient city without walls. The architecture of this town is deeply influenced by four nationalities architectural style,namely Naxi,Tibetan and Han,and is of rich flavor of Chinese culture.In 1997, it was listed into the World Cultural Heritage List.
The path of the old town is all made of stone. There are all kinds of small shops on both sides of the path.Such as jewelry stores, snack bars,educational toys house and so on. Houses are all made of wood, full of Chinese classical atmosphere. There are also some speciality shops of dongba culture. Most of these shops sell some small pendants with Dongba characters and play the ancient naxi music.The town is almost no hotel in it ,but has many inn with local characteristics. You can live in an ancient wooden cabin. The yard out of the window maybe has a little bridge, and the stream flows through it slowly.
