Essay title: Bloom Taxonomy

There are six steps for categorizing levels of learning by Benjamin Bloom. The first is Knowledge; this level is simply a regurgitation of information taught to a person. Second is the Comprehension level, which is the level of understanding. Next is the Application level and in this level a person has learned the information taught and can apply the information. Fourth would be Analysis, this level is where a person who is taught information can see different patterns or hidden meanings in the information. Another words that person can break it down and explain it to someone else. Next would by the Synthesis level, this level is where a person has learned the information and rearrange it or modify it or use old ideas to create new ones. And the last level of categorizing is Evaluation this is the level where a person can compare ideas, and judge or explain the judgment.

1st Curriculum Example:

Read a Chapter book to the children- “Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing”

1. Knowledge- Ask the children questions about the book as you go along.

2. Comprehension- Have them write a journal entry about their interpretation of the book.

3. Application- Pick a section in the book and have the children do a play with their modification on how the book should have read in their opinion.
