Martin Luther King, Jr. was born January 15th, 1929, in Atlanta Georgia. His

parents are Martin Luther King, Sr.and Alberta Williams King. His father was a

prominent member of the blackcommunity in Atlanta and was a Baptist Minister. His

family stressed the need of a firm education to lean back on. King attended a local,

segregated public school and was dedicated to learn. At the age of 15, King attended

Morehouse college and graduated in 1948. King continued his pursuit of knowledge at

Croezer Theological Seminary and later graduatedwith honorsonly to further his

education by getting a doctoral degree in systematic theology in 1955.During King’s

education, he learned the importance of public speaking. King was ordained a Baptist

minister at the age of 18. King used this to express himself freely and he was able to

persuade his Listeners. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. not only spoke with purpose but also

with a style unlike any others. He was an inspirational speaker and a motivational leader.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., motivated others with his tremendous speeches and

actions. Dr. King used his gift to change the views and beliefs and to lead his people

throughout their course of the civil rights movement. Dr. Kings personality had very good

characteristics that black Americans needed for a leader. At all times Dr.King clearly state

his ideas and thoughts surrounding peace and equality in the United States. Dr. King is

known as "One of the world’s best known advocates of non-violent social change

strategies". His ideals came from African-American religious traditions which were

then grown more from his education. This social activist and leader was the result

of extensive formal education, strong personal values and ethics. His excellence

in leadership can be traced to his character which is shaped by his moral values and

personality. Dr. Kings own love,and sense of caring, motivated him to fight for
