STEM CELLS

In recent years, there has been a widespread debate going on over the controversy of stem cell research. The argument over usage and destruction of human embryos has brought up many complaints but also seems so attract much praise. From what I have seen and heard there are two viewpoints to the issue. Do you one, devalue the worth of a human being, or two diminish significant medical potential. After what I have read and understood, I personally do not find fault in the research and usage of stem cells. I believe that stem cells could hold the answer to many medical issues. I definitely understand the ethical issues stem cells research holds, but I firmly believe that the possibilities that they hold and the rewards we could reap make the use of stem cells completely worth it.

In many studies, it has been said that human stem cells could be used for the generation of cells and tissues for cell-based therapies, treating patients by transplanting specialized cells that have been grown from stem cells laboratories. Due to their ability to replace damaged cells in the body, stem cells could be used to treat a pretty wide range of medical conditions such as heart failure, spinal injuries, diabetes and Parkinson disease. It is hoped that transfer and growth of the appropriate stem cells in damaged tissue will reconstruct the many cell types of that tissue.
