Essay title: This I Believe

When I was a little kid growing up I was told that there is a God out there. I wasn't quite sure there was because I couldn't see him. I would never believe in anything unless I could physical touch and see it. Every night I would pray to this unknown "God" and ask him to show himself if he truly

existed. Day by day I would slowly lose faith in knowing what I was told. Sadly enough I didn't believe in God.

My parents never forced me to go to church, but that was only because they didn't. My dad was never home, because the army always kept him away. As for my mom, she was left here all alone in this foreign state: in the middle of now where, without a car. Over time my dad would get upset at all of us for little things; my siblings and I were afriad to go anywhere with him. He wasn't abusive, he just had a strong temper.

Over the years his back got the better of him, so the miliatry had to medical retire him. Dad wasn't to keen on that, and grew agrugary at his family more then ever; meanwhile his back kept hurting him. He looked months and months for a job that would suit his needs. After all he was a truck driver for the military and that was all he knew. Then he found the perfect job, for him anyways. He got accepted to drive Great Plains Trucking. We never saw him for months at a time. Mom had a emergecy c-section and could have died from it and he left the next day when the baby was born. I never have forgiven him for that. We just moved to a new house again and there he was with six kids and a wife who needed him the most and he just left us there.

Six months after he started working there, he got into a terrible accident. He broke his ankle and leg in different places and ended up in the hospital for two months.We were on workers comp and that barely paid for anything. After he healed he went right back to working.
