Christianity shares many beliefs and practices with other religions such as Jews and Muslems. All three believe that there us only one God who created the Universe and everything around them. All three of these religions are called “Ethical Monotheism”. This is because it means the belief in one God, and following this God makes people also follow certain rules or ways of life. Christianity first was a part of Judaism. Jesus was a Jew. He lived from about 3 BC to 30 AD. He lived and taught in Palestine, primarily among fellow Jews. However Christianity separated from the main religion of Judaism because Christians regarded Jesus as god’s presence in human form. Christianity is “a monotheistic system of beliefs and practices based on the Old Testament and the teachings of Jesus, and emphasizing the role of Jesus as savior.
