Blackstone: Rule of action which is prescribed by some superior and which the inferior is bound to obey.

Willis: Law is a scheme of social control for the protection of social interests by means of cpacity of influence baked by the power of the state, a scheme for controlling the conduct of people.

Holmes: Law is a statement
