INT. KAIT'S KITCHENETTE NIGHT.

Credits roll over close up shots of KAIT THORESON (shoulder length hair, 21, glasses, ‘Beam Me Up, Scotty’ T-shirt and jeans) making coffee. After the coffee has dripped through the filter, she pours five cups of coffee then places the mugs on a tray. VOICES can be heard from the next room having a friendly argument over the importance of charisma. Kait places a sugar bowl and a cream container on the tray and exits to the living room.

INT. KAIT'S LIVING ROOM - NIGHT.

DON (22, sci fi geek), BRAD (19, crush on Kait, compugeek), GABRIELLA (25, granola-type) and DAVID (, gaming geek) are huddled in conversation. The table is covered in maps, writing paper, pencils, polyhedron dice, and snacks. Brad has cheezies in his lap. David, Brad and Don are seated on a couch, while Gabriella is in a chair. Dungeons & Dragon ™(“D&D”) books are everywhere.

BRAD

Can we start now, Don?

Kait passes the coffee mugs to the players and moves the stuff on the table around to accommodate the cream & sugar containers. She sits in the empty chair. Don glances at his game notes.

DON

In the last session, Kait's gladiator was killed, so she'll be introducing new character. Gabriella's a new player and...

BRAD

Do we hafta listen to them generate their characters?

INT. KAIT'S LIVING ROOM continued - NIGHT.

DON

Patience, young Skywalker, they've already approved their characters with me. You are all in a tavern called The Thorny Rose.

KAIT

My character is passed out under a table and he's missing his left shoe.

GABRIELLA

Playing a dwarf, Kait?

DAVID

It's a nice change from gay minotaur gladiators.
