Could Non Violence work today?

Dr. King method for non violence is the end justifies the means and believed in the love. Also did not want black to seem like the aggressors. So could non violence work today? I believe it could work if everyone just thinks before they act, but I say no that non violence will not work in this world today.

In this world people are so focused on an eye for an eye, they do not stop to think about others. Non violence will never work tell more then one or two groups believe that it can. Then you have to look at the leader today, what is the first thing they do to get back at someone, go right to war. So people who look up to them because people think them leader knows best is doing what right.

Then the question is put out there, will non violence work today. How could it work,
