The idea that is accentuate behind this source is that generally nation-states or countries nowadays fail to recognize the importance of internationalism which is the essential key to building a good foreign policy, which ultimately will benefit the well-being of our own as well as the other countries. There are many types of internationalism, which is why it makes sense there are also positive and negative result of internationalism. By welcoming internationalism we can benefit our country greatly in various ways. Positive reasons that countries should grasp the idea is that when a country accept internationalism their goals will start to seem more reasonable, as well as a huge boost in their economy. When a country adopts the idea of internationalism, they will meet with other countries with the same foreign policy goals. When two countries work together, that goal would be much easier to achieve. Groups like UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) and the UNFCCC treaty (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) are environmental benefits. If the USA alone tried to stop global warming, it would not be effective, because of the sheer population of the world, but if, for example USA and China decided to work together, this would make a much more drastic result, as the population working on the problem is much greater.  Organizations like WTO (World Trade Organization) help economic benefits of countries. Resulting from the creation of WTO, U.S. exports of goods and services have doubled to more than $1.5 trillion causing GDP to double as well. The main reason this happens is that the country extends their business potential. As there are so many distinct positive results of internationalism, there are also negative results. Even though international trade is fundamental to the country’s finances it can cause mass job and cultural losses. When countries work together internationally to fix a world problem such as global warming they are fixing a global problem, even though this is happening there will still be countries who do not want to cooperate, resulting in useless efforts from the countries trying to make a change. After carefully examining both sides to this idea, the concept of internationalism should be embraced for it helps countries economically and keeps the environment healthy.
