The Utopia

It began with a suicide...

Lisa Federline took a deep breath and steeled herself for the pain that was to come. She told herself that it would only hurt a minute. Mr. Ian Woon was driving the truck that would hit her and he was an expert.

She heard the truck before she saw it. It's engine had a loud rumbling, thrumming noise that she could feel in her bones. Then she saw it. It was wide and whit and huge, about 10 feet long. It was a Mack truck, probably. Mr. Ian Woon said he preferred them for this sort of job. Ok, time to go. Do your thing.

Lisa stepped off the curb, walked a few steps, and WHAM The truck hit her full on, and kept on going, crushing her underneath its wheels.

Lisa felt pain, intense, incredible pain, like she'd never felt before, and then she was free. She sat up and looked down at her poor, destructed, mortal body. It was hardly recognizable as anything but a victim of a hit-and-run. And a hit-and-run, it was as Mr. Ian Woon had long since fled from the scene.

Ok, time to go home.

Lisa blinked and suddenly she was in the Pearl Room in her home dimension, surrounded by all her friends. There on the left was her best bud Traci, with her mate Kevin. Next to them was Farrah and Bruce. There were also a lot of faces she didn't recognize. They must be newborns. She remembered Traci telling her that there had been a baby boom about five years ago and they needed new souls.

"Welcome Back "

"Thank you everyone, but I'm a little overwhelmed at the moment,"said Lisa.

"We understand. Your mate Donald should be here any minute."said Traci.

A few feet away from her, Donald materialized. He looks great Like he hasn't aged a day ...Of course he hasn't, we don't age. Sheesh, being in a life has made me soft. I'm starting to think like them

"Lisa"said Donald, warmly. He held out his arms to embrace her.

Lisa almost jumped into his arms, she ran so fast and nearly knocked him over. Of course she couldn't knock him over since they were both a little unsubstantial what with just getting back from the mortal plane and all.

They kissed passionately.

"Ok, party's over folks Let's give them some room "announced Traci.

The crowd slowly dispersed as people slowly went back to what they did on a normal day.As it was, Lisa's pink skin was already melding with Donald's blue skin to create a purple skin that meant an information exchange was imminent.

On the way to their room, they passed Mr. Ian Woon.

"Hey, you did a great job."said Lisa.

"Thanks said Mr. Ian Woon. "You weren't half bad yourself."

Lisa and Donald arrived to the bedroom, went in, and locked the door. They lay down on the bed next to each other on their backs. They stayed perfectly still and a few seconds later, the information exchange began. It basically copied their memories and transferred the copy to the other so each knew what the other had experienced in their life. The information exchange took about half an hour mortal time, but the two didn't realize it as there is no such thing as time passing in their home dimension. When the information exchange was over, they curled up into each other's arms and took a brief nap. Soon they were refreshed and ready to talk about each other's memories.

"Wow, I never thought being a cheerleader could be so tough," remarked Donald, reliving Lisa's days as head cheerleader of Bayview High in southern California.

"Yeah, though obviously being a "nerd" was no piece of cake either."

"I was not a nerd," he protested. "I was smart And... naive...and ok, maybe just a little bit nerdy."

"You were very nerdy. You fit all the qualifications in Weird Al Yankovic's song "White and Nerdy.", she teased.

"You gotta admit it's a great song. And even you fit a few of the qualifications...trekkie."
