Minecraft

Have you ever fantasized about being in a world that was all your own? Have you ever wanted to explore the entire world? Minecraft fulfills those desires of wanting to do thing in the real world that you never actually can do. Minecraft was created by the Swedish programmer, Markus Persson with the help from his friends Carl Manneh, Jens Bergensen, and Jakob Porser.

Markus got the idea for Minecraft when he was playing Dwarf Fortress, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Dungeon Keeper, and Infiniminer.

On May 24, 2009 Markus opened the Minecraft forum. Later on that year Markus quit his day job to work on Minecraft full time. They left comments on the video asking what the name of the game was and where they could get it. Minecraft was getting more and more popular. More popular than Markus ever thought it would become. Since so many people wanted to play the game, he started to make more updates for the game. He gathered a team of programmers and designers to help design the game. They also have to sleep at night, eat, and watch their health bar to make sure that it does not go down because if it goes down they can die. In Adventure Mode the Player does the same things as they did in survival mode but they cannot break blocks.

On August 4, 2010 Markus made Minecraft a SMP, which stands for Survival-Multi-Player. People started to make their own Bucket servers. If a player creates a Bucket server, the player has their own server to play on where they can
