Global warming is becoming a bigger problem and is directly related to the increasing amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. According to the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii the carbon dioxide concentration reached alarmingly high values, the highest for more than 50 years.

European Union Member States have taken measures to curb this phenomenon by adopting package of 3 × 20 - 20% reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, 20% improvement in energy efficiency and increase to 20% renewable energy by 2020.

In the current situation, buildings are responsible for 35% of greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union. Therefore, through the use of energy efficient solutions in construction, compatible with sustainable development, we are able to improve situation of the environment.

Why should we build energy efficient building?

1. First of all, we try to minimize the negative impact of buildings on the environment.

2. We need to take action against climate change.

3. We want to reduce the operating costs of the building.

4. Due to the personal benefits to the citizens

5. An important aspect is also the international commitments to which every country in european union is obligated

Classification of building Energy efficiency.

Using the numerical values or Ev E ratio can be estimated that the building has low energy consumption (is energy efficient), or has a medium or high energy consumption. The recognition of certain values of E below which building is Energy efficient is completely arbitrary :

• E> 140 kWh / m2 / year, not very efficient;

• E = 110 kWh / m2 / year, standard house

• E <70 kWh / m2 / year, the energy-efficient houses

• E <15 kWh / m2 / year, is called. passive houses, which can operate in a passive way, without active heating and ventilation air.

Energy efficient building

Energy efficient building - is a building which uses design and technical solutions to be able work in low energy consumption while ensuring comfort hygiene and sanitary conditions. In other words, is a house, which consumes relatively little energy required for its operation and to heating.

• Great insulation

• It uses the heat produced from a variety of household appliances;

• use of natural light;

• can recover heat from wastewater;

• recover Energy from exhousted air

Radical reduction of energy demand at home is possible only when you install a ventilation intake-exhaust, allowing recover heat generated by household appliances. The ventilation system and at the same time very good insulation of the building allows to resignof conventional heaters because the ventilation takes role of heating. It is also important to correctly finish building with smallest details. Everything must Interact with one another - recuperation system that allows for energy recovery, suitably thick insulation and airtight windows.renewable energy sources .The building structure should be compact and properly oriented to the world. The house must be well insulated with a well-functioning ventilation. Pay particular attention to not to create thermal Bridges.In addition building can gain some Energy by good orientation in the southern side.

Passive house

A passive house - the standard erection of buildings, which are distinguished by very good insulating envelope and applying a series of solutions designed to minimize power consumption during operation. Practice shows that the demand for energy in such buildings is eight times less than traditional buildings constructed according to current standards (energy demand in passive houses is less than 15 kWh / (m² · year), while in ordinary homes - can reach up to 120 kWh / ( m² · year)).

A passive house is
