Forensic pathology is a special area of pathology. The forensic

pathologist does autopsies to find the cause death and in the

mammer of which they died. These situations are labeled as

homicides, accidents, and suicides.But sometimes there are

suspicious deaths, sudden and unexpected deaths in children,

prisoners,institutionalized people and situations where drugs

or alcohol may have contributed to the death, Many people

do not realize that about half of the deaths examined by the

forensic pathologist are natural deaths occurring without injury.

The forensic pathologist is also an expert witness in the court,

testifying in a variety of civil and criminal cases involving death or injury.

So if you like to work say a set hour schedule from 9 to 5, go home early on a friday,

have a friendly and fun staff, and make jokes to your coworkers about what your

mother in law cooked form the weekend dinner...this job is not for you.

This Job needs someone that has a strong stomach,likes to bring home a

mountain of paperwork to do during the weekend after working a maybe 6 to 11 hour day

and not mind the smell of rotting human flesh.

It takes many years of schooling to prepare for a job in forensic pathology.
