The war in Iraq started in 1991 as every one knows it wasn’t called the war in Iraq at first but it was called the Gulf War. The reason for the Gulf war was,

Saddam Hussein had invaded Kuwait which supplied 10 percent of the worlds Oil

Supply. And President George W. Bush at the time reacted by sending American troops in which started Operation Desert Storm. The main problem of this was, Saddam Hussein refused to listen to the United States, he continued to invade Kuwait and other countries surrounding Iraq. So he Wanted more power and places to keep weapons such as weapons of mass destruction, which he claimed did not exist. The fighting continued after Saddam Hussein received numerous requests to stand down Iraqi troops in Kuwait and other countries. Although the war only lasted 1 year, American troops were still positioned in Iraq. Over the years fighting continued to erupted through Iraq and Kuwait and other countries around the area. At the present time the United states was deployed back to Iraq the reason for this was, The World Trade Center Tragedy, and war that was going on in Iraq before 9/11/01. We went back in to Iraq to fight terrorist and through the time we spent there we got information on chemical weapons also known as weapons of mass destruction. We have been in Iraq going on 5 years now and we are trying to make a better place for the people in Iraq, to live and also to form a government of their own. We have tried to do that for many years but have failed so far. The reason that are American troops are still deployed in Iraq is to watch over the oil, to help the people of Iraq and to catch and stop all of the terrorists that are living in Iraq and many other countries surrounding the area of Iraq. As of October 27, 2005 The death total of the American, Britons, Bulgarians, Danes, Dutch, Estonians, Hungarian , Italians , Kazakh, Latvian , Poles, Salvadoran , Slovaks, Spaniards, Thai, and Ukrainians stands as this 2,004 American Troops have been killed in Action 98 Britons have been killed 13 Bulgarians have been killed 2 Dutch have been killed 2 Danes have been killed 2 Estonians have been killed 1 Hungarian has been killed 26 Italians have been killed 2 Thai have been killed and 18 Ukrainians have been killed and a total of troops including every one listed proximally 2,201 soldiers have been killed in the war in Iraq. More American Soldiers have been killed in Iraq now than when the war was going on. More than half of the United states Soldiers have died either because of roadside bombs or car bombs parking in a group of Soldiers and civilians and then being set off. At least 15,220 U.S. Soldiers and personal have been wounded in action due to the hostel fire in Iraq. During the war may weapons and aircraft
