Chapter I: Company description

        The company Curacao Custom Tours is going to focus on providing a service of touring organization to all the tourists interested in coming to Curacao for business or pleasure.

        What sets this company apart from a travel agency is that the customers will contact us with his traveling needs and all the activities he would like to do once he arrives at Curacao, after reading all the information provided in our website, and then we would organize several touring options that accommodate their needs with different schedules. Hence, we would be using a customized provider-customer nexus with high quality service in order to fulfill all their needs as best as possible.

        On the other hand, our main tool will not be an office but a website. We will act as a wholesale company like Amazon but, instead on focusing on items, we will center our attention into providing a service.

        The main objectives of the company will be:

  • Promote the tourism on the island of Curacao by offering a high quality service to our customers.
  • To instill a culture of continuous improvement in surpassing standards of customer satisfaction and efficiency.
  • To improve the tourism rate on Curacao by offering a new and innovative way of touring to all the persons interested in coming to the island, in order not only to improve the current market but to expand it to new horizons also.
  •  Commitment to support the growth and development of the economy of Curacao.
  • Develop a comfortable working ambient for the workers via motivational goals to help them and the Company to grow at the same pace.

        Regarding the incomes of the company, a fee will be charged from the hotels, restaurant and attractions that decide to advertise in our website.

I.I. - Company Mission

         The mission of Curacao Custom Tours is to achieve profit by providing an innovative and high quality service that will adapt to the needs of the customers in order to evolve with the market flow and hence, achieve longevity through constant development.

I.II. - Company Vision

        The vision of our company is focused in becoming the best tour organization business in Curacao through the implementation of high quality and well organized schedules that adapt to the needs of our customers.

        I.III. - Resources

        Natural resources: a land to establish the company’s main office.

Human resources: a minimum of 3 employees can be used with this type of business. The skills that they should have are the ones related to interpersonal relations, basic IT skills (windows environment, word, excel, access, power point), advanced IT skills applicable for at least 1 of the employees (web designing, database management) and all of them should have a good capability to react against last minute problems.

Technical resources: here we can consider all the apparels needed to furnish and use at the office (furniture, computers, commodities, etc).

I.IV. - Key Stakeholders

Because of the nature of this business, the amount of stakeholders is vast. It would include all the businesses that would promote the company via web or brochures like embassies in different countries and car rentals, hotels, restaurants and the like on the island of Curacao.

In the field of competition we are still researching but so far we have not found a company that arranges custom made tours on the island of Curacao.

Concerning the creditors, since the amount of money needed to establish this type of company is not very big in comparison to other types of businesses like franchises for example, we might not consider a loan from a bank at this point. Perhaps, when the research is at a more advanced stage, a bank loan could be considered.

I.V. - Key-type business decisions

The most important decision the company would have to take is regarding the way is going to advertize the service is providing. Hence, the website and marketing strategies would have the highest priority. At the same level, we would consider customer service oriented decisions to be of high importance because the growth and expansion of the business relies on that.

Managerial and financial decisions would take place between all of those who compose the company which would be organized in a horizontal way from the managerial aspect.
