Writing Is Good For The Soul

Let’s say that one day you come home from a long and hard day at school. You’re both angry and sad because of the day’s events. You wish that there was someone you could turn to, but there’s no one home. Don’t worry, because you’re not alone.

There’s always a piece of paper and a pen willing to give you the chance to express yourself in ways you could never seem to when you were talking to someone. That’s writing. Writing allows you to write about your awful day at school and how you wished it could have been. Writing allows you to express how you feel about specific people in your life who anger you or make you feel good about yourself. One of the best things which most people realize about writing is that it never expects too much, or too little, it never taunts you or complains. The best thing is that it never criticizes you. With writing you are never too weak or strong, too young or old, too experienced or inexperienced. Some of the people to whom you might want to confide, in might think that everything that has happened to you was your fault. Even if it was your fault, writing will let you get away from that, if only for a while, and listen to your point of view on everything. Of course, everyone likes it when their opinion is ‘heard‘.

Everyone writes for a different reason. People write books to get them published because they know they have talent. Some people keep journals to have memories to look back on. Others write when they are angry, sad or lonely so that they can runaway from reality, from peer pressure, family, and school stress. At times, you can find it easier to get those thoughts out onto paper than doing it any
