My Life

One of the most important points stressed time and again throughout the class is the importance of ensuring that all business transactions/expectations are reduced to writing. The bible has a lot of examples where it mentions reducing agreements/expectations into writing. According to the Bible, it says in Exodus 34:27, "then the Lord said to Moses, "Write these words, for according to the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel." These writings are talking about the covenant renewed, when God wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. Nehemiah 9:38 says, "And because of all this, we make a sure covenant and write it; our leaders, our Levites, and our priests seal it." This scripture reference talks about how the people of Israel confess their sins and worshiped their God.

The biblical approaches to business transactions are similar to the world view of handling business. In the world we have laws, judges and courts that are made up of rules that portray honesty and integrity in order to make effective business transactions. In the Bible, God talks about how in everything we do, we must do it in faith and love, which can and should include to business transactions (Proverbs 28:20, I Cor 13:14). It is scriptural as well to get business transactions in writing,
